Venezuela Information Office: "The truth suffers in human rights report on Venezuela."



On September 18, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) released a report on the state of human rights under the Chavez administration in Venezuela. The document's release coicincided with the expulsion from Venezuela of two HRW employees, also on September 18. Among other topics, the report centers on the effects of the Chavez administration on the courts, the media, organized labor, and civil society in Venezuela. Shortly thereafter, the Venezuela Information Office released its analysis of the HRW report, arguing that the HRW has on this occasion been less than truthful. You can read the full critique here.
